Empower Event Video is a one man freelance operation.
A Little Bio: This video venture is actually an evolving hobby I started a little over 4 years ago. My background is in the automotive field as a professional master certified technician for over 25 years and business owner. I am originally from the state of Florida but landed in the Charlotte area back in 2002 when I moved from business owner/operator to automotive instructor at a private training school in Mooresville, NC. , an area known as “Race City USA”. This is home base of many professional race teams in NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, INDY and more.
I enjoy my “daytime” job and the company I work for has been a blessing to me, just celebrating my ninth year with them. They tap into my video skills from time to time, allowing me to assist on company projects.
People say I am very creative and maybe that’s because I enjoy my video hobby as I continue to learn and develop more with every opportunity. I enjoy helping someone out with reasonably priced solutions to those “little” issues involving hiring someone that knows how to do something you don’t. We all have been there…
Since I do this part time, for now, I must balance my day job with the growing amount of video work I am experiencing. I do have some flexibility with enough notice.
There is an old saying in the video industry known as “Good, Cheap, Fast”, pick two.
Since I don’t do this for a living, I can be selective on what projects I can complete within a reasonable amount of time and at good quality. I have been blessed with some very understanding clients so far because they know this “up front”.
I do not take on any project I feel cannot be completed by a deadline or difficulty level I am not comfortable with. On the flip side, I am fortunate to have been exposed to many genres of video production and have learned from each.
I am married to my wonderful wife for over 14 great years in a Christian household. She is a very patient lady putting up with my hobby. I also facilitate the all-volunteer media ministry at my church, Harvest Community Church in Concord.
